You all developed the activist warriors who once they are done with SPIN, they have the power of a tiger. They have the smarts and the ability to be successful.” — SPIN alumni

We’re looking for more warriors who want to take their activism to the next level.

Applications are now open to attend this year’s SPIN Academy that will run August 21–24 at Walker Creek Ranch in Petaluma, CA.

SPIN Academy has a 20-year track record of helping progressive communicators carry their important work forward. SPIN brings together progressive communicators working on diverse, intersectional issues. We welcome those new to the field as well as mid-career folks. Our program offers practical tools and the latest, proven strategies as well as coaching and development of peer networks.

Each year, SPIN alumni join a growing network of communicators with cross-sector connections and broad geographic reach to share best practices and build public support for the most pressing issues of our time.

Here’s how our alumni remember their SPIN experience:

SPIN made my work feel more manageable and less intimidating and it also renewed my commitment and excitement for it. SPIN makes communications fun, engaging, and effective.”

“I had been working as a one-person communications team, largely teaching myself as I went. SPIN gave me the tools to take my work to the next level, and the confidence to insist that communications be an integral part of my organization’s work, not just an afterthought.”

“I love the sense of camaraderie it fosters (I made a lot of friends and got to learn more about their causes and organization. Super cool!) It also made me think about my organization’s positioning in the broader social justice ecosystem.”

“It felt like more than a training. It felt like a celebration as well, kind of like look at the cool stuff we’re all doing. Let’s celebrate that we are all here to learn how to do better.”

Applications will remain open through June 15th. Space is limited, so apply today… and get ready to share your SPIN story!
